Interstellar Companions

I found a new hobby.

I've been fascinated with space art for months. There are some pieces here on DA that bring tears to my eyes because they're so beautiful. Eventually I thought, Hey, why don't I try this myself?

A few days of tutorial research, practice, and 12 hours later.....

I'm posting this now so I'd quit messing with it. It's my first space art piece, so I have to go easy on myself and accept that it won't look "perfect" to me. I expect in a year's time that I'll tear this apart and do it over. Hopefully it doesn't actually look like I had no idea what I was doing....

I am open to critique on this, but please be gentle. I have a lot of questions and stuff to learn, but I don't know who to ask.
